In many important fields that need wide-ranging information exchange, the long-distance supervisory system is a necessary system for production and management, and the communication module is one important part of the whole supervisory system. With the rapid development of communication technology, the tradional long-distance supervisory system can not satisfy the increasing diverse demands, so a communication mode which has much higher timeliness, farther distance and lower cost is urgently needed. At the same time, it has become a hotspot to make use of GSM and GPS in the supervisory field. So based on a project, the design of the communication module software is proposed in sea area supervisory system based on GSM.The communication module hardware uses a mainboard takeing a ARM7 processor S3C44B0 as the core, and the mainboard connects to a GSM modem and a GPS modem through two serial ports. The GPS modem is used to get GPS data of the monitored boat. The GSM modem is used to send the GPS data to the control center in the form of short messages. The processor is ready to receive the short message command sent by the control center, and then takes actions responding to the command content. In the control center, a short message platform is used to receive and process the GPS data, and it can also send short message commands to the boat terminal. Short message technology is introduced in the supervisory field in this system, and a short message platform is used. It has higher short messages processing rate, and the installation is much easier. It also provides users with a few service interfaces which help users to develop services.The present paper divides four parts to introduce the topic research content. The first part introduces the topic background and the supervisory system development history. The second part describes the framework of the communication module, the communication protocol and functions. The third part describes the software design of the boat terminal takingμC/OS-II system as the core in detail. The fourth part describes the server design in the control center based on the short message platform. At the end the whole pager is summarized.This system has realized all the requirements of the project and it has passed the preliminary test. The system runs well and the test result is satisfying. The system can be also used in many other fields easily.
