Chaos is one of the most important discoveries in the 20th century. In the last two decades, researches on chaos mainly cover the observation from experiments and the quantification from numerical simulations. Along with the further understanding of chaos, one important issue occurs, i.e., how to apply the research achievements to serve for the humanity. Nonlinear science is a foundational discipline which concerns the common properties of nonlinear phenomena. Particularly, Chaos theory is one of important subdiscipline of nonlinear science, The research has studied the relative problems of chaos control, chaos synchronization and application in secure communication using the methods of theoretical derivation and numerical simulation as follows:(1) The dynamical behavior of Newton-Leipnik system and its trajectory-transformation control problem to multiple attractors is studied. A simple linear state feedback controller for Newton-Leipnik system based on Lyapunov stability theory and applying inverse optimal control method is designed. Stabilize asymptotically the chaotic attractors to unstable equilibriums of the system, so the transformation of one attractor to another for the trajectory of Newton-Leipnik system is realized. The form of the controller is simple and implemented easily. The convergence rate of the controller is very fast and the control range is very broad. Theoretical analyses and numerical simulations both indicate the effectiveness of the controller.(2) The secure communication on ultra-wideband radio technology of chaotic pulse position modulation is studied. This paper discusses the theory about the new wireless communication technology—chaotic pulse position modulation, and the realization of non-chaos synchronization wireless security communication system using the technology. It designs a chaos sequence generator based on the Chen system. The system has a good security and can pervasion of mistake code, has a well anti-jamming ability and so on. The numerical simulations indicate the effectiveness of the controller.
