Presently, cladding pumped fiber lasers is excellent in the family of the fiber lasers. The clad-pumping technology helps fiber laser shake off the impression of low-power. Double-clad fiber laser centralizes the high-power and high-quality of laser beam and all of the virtues of fiber laser. In addition, it can be widely applied in optic-communications, aerospace, precision machining etc. So it draws more and more attentions.The aim of this dissertation is to search a feasible measure for improving the performance of the double-clad fiber laser by simulating the cladding pumped fiber lasers.The structure, characteristic and coupling mode of the cladding pumped fiber lasers are analyzed. At the same time, the state of the researches and the development way in the field of fiber laser worldwide are summarized.Theoretic model and the theoretical analysis's method of the three-level system cladding pumped fiber lasers is analyzed. Besides, the theoretic model of the cladding pumped fiber lasers with pump is analyzed as well.The module of the cladding pumped fiber lasers is simulated based on rate equation model of the three-level system fiber laser. The influences of the reflectivity of the mirror and the pump reflection on the performance of the cladding-pumped fiber lasers is studied.To sum it up, some feasible measures for improving the performance of the cladding pumped fiber laser are gained in this dissertation:Using large reflectivity of the input mirror, shorter optimum length and a little larger output power as well as a little larger efficiency of slope is gained.Using small reflectivity of the output mirror, larger output power and efficiency of slope is gained. However, larger optimum length is also gained.Using the pump reflection, the pump's efficiency of use can be increased. Besides, the larger output power, shorter optimum length and larger efficiency of slope is gained. the performance of the cladding pumped fiber laser can be improved.
