According to the basic principle of the Finite-Difference Time-Domain technique under the right-angle reference frame, the essential matter of the Finite-Difference Time-Domain technique: iterative gridding , invigorative function, boundary condition has been discussed and analyzed in detail. The problem caused by the Mur boundary absorbed condition and Gauss pulse has been analyzed. According to the formula the Finite-Difference Time-Domain technique program for calculating the photonic crystals'transmission characteristic of rectangle and triangle in Fortran has been worked out. The result has accord with the result in the existent literature, which proves the correctness of the program of this paper.The photonic crystals'transmission characteristic of a kind of new type structure whose symmetry grade is lower has been calculated. The result has proved that the photonic crystals with lower symmetry grade must have a wider band gap. The conclusion has the actual significance for analyzing and applying the photonic crystals.
