With the explosive growth of its scale and the user number, all kinds of new application including real-time services are introduced into the network and the Internet is evolving to supporting integrated services. But at the same time, the Internet encounters some problems that haven't ever been anticipated at its beginning, for example, the scarcity of network addresses, the large size of routing table, the low speed of packet forwarding and the less capabilities of provision QoS, and it is not adapt to the next generation network. In order to satisfy the requirements of the future networks, the architecture of the Internet needs some essential reformation. Therefore, Professor Liang Mangui puts forward the idea of Vector Network (Vector-Net). Based on Vector-Address, the Vector-Net raises the conception of "Vector-Connect" and "Vector-Switch". Vector-Net provides advantageous conditions for Quality of Services (QoS) control. This dissertation addresses the mechanism of QoS control for Vector-Net.A QoS control model for Vector-Net is brought forward in this dissertation. Its mean idea is combining the resource reservation and the congestion-driven QoS mechanism.A basic architecture of resource reservation protocol for Vector-Net is proposed in the dissertation. Taking the advantage of the forwarding path for a flow is stable in Vector-Net, the resource reservation protocol for Vector-Net is initiated by sender and employed hard-state mode. The resource reservation is implemented based on Vector-Connect, so it provides a way to simplify the reservation processing and reduces associated overhead. And it can also guarantee the extensible of the resource reservation protocol. In this dissertation, the QoS management mechanism of congestion-driven based on trust is proposed. The basic idea of that mechanism which simulates urban traffic management mechanism and is driven by congestion event derives form community bionics. The method of spot-checking and punishment is employed here to manage network. That mechanism is composed of global model and domain model which is as a basis. We simulate that mechanism using OPNET which is network simulation software. We analyze the simulation result included link throughput, queue delay and end to end delay that verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the mechanism.
