Along with national economy's development, the distribution automation of Powerline network becomes more and more important in the process of our country's Powerline network constructions, but the key factor influencing our process of distribution automation is that, each nod can communicate reliably with other nods in a MV-Powerline network. Nowadays, the OFDM's application in MV-PLC manifestes a huge superiority, and has attracted more and more attention in Communication .Fields. As the DSP technology develops, using the high speed DSP chip to realize the OFDM communication system becomes much easier. This thesis gives an entire design of an OFDM MV-PLC system based on DSP technology.Firstly, the application background and the present situation of the Medium Voltage Power Line Communication (MV-PLC) are discussed.The general application mode of MV-PLC systems and the advantages of the application of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology in MV-PLC are also introduced.Secondly, the fundamental principle and the key technology of OFDM are expounded, And then, the signal transmission characteristics of medium voltage power line channel are analyzed, including the characteristic of attenuation, the noise disturbance and the multipath influences.Thirdly, According to the analysis of the medium voltage channel characteristic, an entire design of an OFDM MV-PLC system based on DSP technology, which is able to satisfy a certain performance index, is schemed out, including the details of designing every software and hardware module, as well as each step to realize this OFDM modem.Finally, some test results of this OFDM system about functions and performance, which is based on a laboratory's simulated MV Power Line channel, are listed. Also a conclusion is drawn in the end, that, Using DSP technology to realize OFDM's application in MV-PLC, is not only feasible, but also it has manifested a huge superiority in anti-multipath and anti-noise aspects. Moreover, because of the completely digitization, the system represents a good performance in aspects of reliable transmission and flexible selecting and resetting technical parameters.
