Research And Application Of AJAX And Silverlgiht Based On RIA

In order to improve the user experiences in the Web application, a new Internet application, Rich Internet Applications, came out. RIA is a highly interactive and rich UI function of Web applications.In this paper, the main goal is to use the RIA technology building new model Web applications, which can improve the current Web applications' deficiencies. In the final, we use the latest RIA technology solutions Silverlight and AJAX, building a rich client, sharing video release of Web applications. This paper studies are as follows:1. The paper pointed out that the existing Web applications' deficiencies, and gives the features what the next generation of Web should have. According to these features, we introduced the RIA technology; then expounded the RIA technology background, concepts, technical characteristics, architecture and advantages.2. Then we analyse the RIA field of technology comparatively, and discribe the characteristics of RIA, espesically the Silverlight and AJAX technology research. Their system architecture and design features were discussed in detail.3. At last, using the latest technology solutions Silverlight and AJAX, we built a rich client, sharing video Web applications. Comprehensive demonstrations of the RIA technology operable are made, and a comparison between Silverlight video site and the traditional video website was carried out, the detailed advantages and characteristics of Silverlight were summarized. We pointed out the problems in the system and rasie the next step of research.
