Research Of Car License Plate Area Location Algorithm And Car Tail Lamp Area Extraction Algorithm

First it outlines the development situation of car license plate location algorithm and research about car tail lamp area extraction methods in this paper. Then basic digital image processing theories used frequently in car license plate area extraction is presented. Later, details about the algorithm of car license plate location based car characters connectivity proposed in this paper is discussed. The algorithm is also evaluated by experiments carried out upon it.Then an improved method of car license plate location based on a improved method of edge detection method is proposed in this paper. The improved method is presented in detail and has been proved that it has a good ability of locating car license plate area and can be used in the situation of road crossing. At last some basic research has been done about car tail lamp dectection. And based on analysis of the texture of car tail lamp area a car tail lamp detection algorithm based on color image segmentation is proposed in this paper . And then some applications of the method are pointed out briefly.
