A Scheme Of Key Management And Authentication For MANET Based On Trust Evaluation

MANET (Mobile Ad hoc network) consists of a collection of wireless mobile nodes. Each node in MANET not only performs as a normal mobile terminal but also as a router. Due to the unreliable character of wireless link and the fast changes of topology, MANET is faced with various security challenges. In this thesis, a new scheme of key management and authentication for MANET which is based on trust evaluations is proposed for protecting MANET's security and measuring the nodes'actions.In this thesis, we make use of the identity-based authenticated encryption scheme, and propose a key update scheme which has the partly distributed propriety. And an identity-based Diffe-Hellman protocol is devised to build a session key which can protect session's security too. In trust evaluation mechanism, it initialized the nodes'trust degree values, then dynamically combined the direct trust and indirect trust to trust degree values in the process of network running to form a comprehensive trust evaluation for distinguishing and controlling the nodes'actions. It can be indicated by simulation and analysis that this scheme is of high security and the trust evaluation mechanism is rational, and it is flexible to control the nodes'actions and can dominate the effect such as time delay and so on.
