With the continuous development of Internet technology and the further progress of Internet application, people are becoming to pay more and more attention on the issue of network security. Intrusion detection, together with the other technologies in information encryption technology, firewall, and viral defense technology is an important means to improve Internet safety. Kinds of characters of human immune systems can satisfy the practical requirement of intrusion detection technology. The network intrusion detection model based on the artificial immune systems can improve the security of computer network.The article mainly studies the new immune mechanism, the application of Immune Danger Theory , into the intrusion detection system on the basis of detailed analysis about the defect of the traditional immune-based systems. The major work are as follows:1 Analyze the traditional intrusion detection system based on "self / non-self discrimination immune mechanism by Forrest, and point out the system's major existing defects and the methods for its improvement.2 Interpret the working principles of the recent Immune Danger Theory in contrast with intrusion detection system, and put forward the indispensable simulated parts in its practical use, design the new Intrusion Detection Systems structure based on Immune Danger Theory according to those parts' mutual functions, and describe their working process and features as well.3 Illustrate the working process and the major calculations about the new system based on IDT and IDS, and mainly design the detector's classification and generative calculations, and danger-area calculations. The emulated experiment shows that the system duplicates traditional AIS' characteristics like diversity, self-study and self-organization., and successfully solute the problems like the over-size of self set, the difficulties in fine distinguishing between Self and Nonself, which is a good way for intrusion detection for its improvement in the efficiency of intrusion detection and the reduction of errors.The research of biology Immune Danger Theory is still on the preliminary stage, and its nature needs further studies, the danger signals' definitions and their inspecting methods in particular. So we look forward to its application prospect.
