Recent years, with the deeply research of intrusion detection technology, people found that the run mechanism of computer system had been innate familiar with organism. Biology Immune System had succeeds in protecting the organism from various invasions that provide the important foundation in computer security especially in intrusion detection system. Over the last decade, a new idea challenging the classical self-non-self viewpoint has become popular amongst immunologists. It is called the Danger Theory. It is not an extension of classical immunology, but an absolutely new theory model. Although all the biology immunologists have not accepted this new idea, it can be extended to Artificial Immune System as a kind of emulation toward Biology Immune System.In this paper, we look at this theory from the perspective of Artificial Immune System. An overview of the Danger Theory is presented with particular emphasis on analogies in the Artificial Immune System world. After researching the intrusion detection model based on artificial immune algorithm and analyzing its faults, we present a Danger Theory inspired novel self-adaptive immune algorithm model. This new model can replace the old immune response and can reduce the number of false positive in the current intrusion detection system.
