IP Core Research Of USB Controller

Universal Serial Bus( USB)is widely applied to PC peripheral and portable system. The particular advantages of USB are high transmission speed, high reliability and versatility in application. So it is urgent and significant to develop USB IP core. This thesis focused on it, performed the design and research of USB IP Core.This thesis analyzed and has studied USB1.1 protocol specifications. According to hiberarchy and top-down design concept, the module to USB IP core is divided, and then has been carried on the detailed analysis and studies to each module. It mostly includes digital physical layer, protocol layer, memory interface, control and state registers, configuration controller and data buffers.Every module in the IP core is depicted with Verilog HDL in RTL level. This thesis completed synthesis and simulation on software platform making use of XILINX Corporation's ISE 7.1, which combines Model Technology Corporation's modelsim 6.0 and Synplicity Corporation's Synplify Pro 7.7.1. Finally the USB IP core was verified in physics downloaded to Xilinx Corporation's XC2S200 component, and configured Human Interface Devices (HID) successfully.
