Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) technology is the direction of development of Automatic Train Control (ATC) technology in the urban rail transit nowadays, Database Storage Unit (DSU) is one of the key subsystems in CBTC system, which takes charge of the storage of all the data information and configuration files for CBTC system and database query, database download and database management, and other functions in the scope of system. This paper refers to author's researching work in the CBTC project and access to a number of related documents, accomplishes the designing and construction of the database of DSU. Firstly this paper briefly introduces CBTC system and DSU, analyses the development of embedded real-time database technology and the requirement and characteristic of database design of DSU, brings forward the related problems of design; then this paper combines the graph theory and database design of DSU with innovation, uses binary tree and consults the traits of urban rail lines to research and construct the network topology of DSU database, and then utilizes dynamic graph to research the relationships among data elements and the optimal design method of the database; finally this paper constructs the DSU database and tests it in practice.Researching and testing show that the study about the design theory and method of DSU database in this paper can be a good guide to the database design in CBTC system, the study works out a solid foundation of the further design of DSU also, furthermore the DSU database in this paper can satisfy the functions and requirements of CBTC system very well, and has some strong points as high availability, smart memory and easy transplanting.
