The open-pit production is a Large-scale production system including mining, transportation, unloading and other production processes. The vehicle dispatch in open-pit production system is the key-problem affects its production efficiency. The application of simulation system of vehicles dispatch in open-pit is an important instrument to estimate the rationality of the vehicle dispatch. This paper develops a simulation system of vehicles dispatch in open-pit based on design patterns through the works as follow:(1) This paper uses the ant colony algorithm to solve the shortest path problem of vehicle dispatch in open-pit. Ant colony algorithm is a novel bionic algorithm inspired by the population based behavior of ants'. It shows many promising characters and finds a new method to solve combinatorial optimization problem such as TSP. The algorithm is improved on its shortages such as costing too much time and tending to stick in local best. And solve the problem of routing optimization successfully.(2) Through analyzing the simulation system of vehicle dispatch in open-pit, this paper builds up a simulation model of open-pit production, and discusses the discrete events in the open-pit production detailed. The system also builds and updates the transport network. It reads the GPS documents data and inserts them into the database. Then the transport network is reflected in monitor screen.(3) Design patterns are applied to the simulation system in the analysis and design phase. This paper discusses the characteristic of a simulation system about vehicle dispatch in open-pit, and applies some kinds of design patterns to the simulation system reasonably, such as Factory Method, Strategy, Template Method, and Observer. Design patterns are general solutions to the recurring software design problems in object-oriented systems. Through the application of design patterns, the system possesses the characteristic of reuse and agility. (4) This paper develops a visualization simulation system by C#. The system use Access to be the background database, and use ADO.NET, GDI+ to mapping visualization technologies on the map. The system has perfect function and can be operated easily.
