Pseudolites(PL) have many advantages, such as strongly anti-jamming, flexible configurations and low cost. It is established that the pseudolite signals can contribute to augment the satellite navigation system by enhancing the geometric strength increasing the accuracy of the positioning solutions. This paper is about some research on the PL positioning technique and configuration, including:The some products of PL and the navigation message of PL broadcasting are recommended. There have been researched on the key technique of PL, near-far problem and multipath and has some measures contribute to reduction of the effect. And some methods of achieving synchronization have been noticed. The algorithm of PL augmentation of GPS have been mentioned. And the characteristic of differential PL positioning has also been indicated. In pseudolite positioning, major error sources, such as non-line errors, pseudolite location errors, troposheric delays, need to be treated carefully. Especially the six models of PL's troposheric delays have been compared and analyzed, and summarized the advantage and shortcoming. The RF disturb has also been mentioned. The simulation studies have demonstrated that adding PL can reduce DOP with the reality data from a VRS.The several scenarios of PL positioning configuration have been designed and analyzed, such as PL augmentation of BD-1, PL-only mode wherever satellite signals are unavailable,. The simulation results have demonstrated the accuracy and feasibility of the configurations. And the rules and characteristic have been summarized. The software of PL positioning configuration that can achieve the configuration simulation and display with PL augmentation of BD-1, PL-only mode and PL augmentation GPS mode has been developed.
