| This essay which analyzed the Chinese feature of CCTV-9's English television news and how these features occur in a total English Channel is based on the angle of journalism feature theory. We made the news programs of CCTV-1 and CBS as control group, discussed the text chosen, content expression and technique of edition that CCTV-9's English news has. And it revealed that compare to CBS's Evening News, CCTV News tend to choose economic and politic reports as their content, make short news which is with lager quantity of information and great timing as their reports' carrier, and when it comes to edit the program a lot of broadcast spoken and offscreen voice were used as well as stable charts and conservative colors, etc. Those feature which are mostly alike how it works in news of CCTV-1 are exactly the Chinese journalism features we are looking for from our research.Through all this discussion of journalism culture theory, we found out that there are some reasons why what we talked above occurred. Firstly, form of journalism culture is determined by the spiritual part of it, and in China this role player as leader of public opinion is the right appearance of this spirit. Nevertheless this concept is also the reflection of Confucian's "god and people are being together" and "culture about happiness" theory.At the end of the essay, the efforts that CCTV-9 made to enhance its influential radiance were conclude and got a positive judgment. Those are reasons why we firmly believe that even in China as a English speaking channel, CCTV-9 would still be one of the most impressive televisions which enjoys great power of influence. |
