Microdisplay is the technology which is using microdisplay apparatus and its optics system to display digital information. The vital technology of microdisplay is integrated all pixel of video image or computer image to a piece of IC silicon. The plane display whose diagonal is shorter than 3 inches(7.62cm) is usually called microdisplay. In nowadays, the main demands of electron display technology are portability, low power consumption, high definition and wireless connection. And therefore, microdisplay has shown a powerful potential in market as it is applied in a wide range of products, such as mobile, digital camera, projection of large screen, digital TV of high definition and virtual retinal display. The digital display system is attracted for its portability, micromation and integration, which provides a steady fundament for further research about the microdisplay system.In the beginning of this article, the three main technologies(LCD,DLP,LCoS) in microdisplay are put on and compared in their basic characteristics, advantages, optical characteristics and potential risk in details.This article takes a research on the micromirror scanning and has analyzed. Especially the research about the dynamic deformation and scanning resolution in high speed, has not been seen in China yet.In one hand, the article is starting from the mechanical dynamics of the scanning micromirror, then analyzing the elasticity, resonance and mechanical shock that appeared in the scanning through the discussion about the second-order systems linear and nonlinear characteristics, last leading to the dynamic deformation of micromirror.In another hand, the article is starting from the optics of scanning micromirror, conducting that: the scanning optical resolution is decided by product of the length of the micromirror and the angle of rotation, even more it is analyzed out the influence of dynamic reformation to optical resolution.Further, it is analyzing scan angle, optical resolution, reflectivity, power consumption, cost, controllability, reliability and robustness in micromirror in some aspects.At last, in the basis of above study, the structure of micromirror scan which is integrated with single chip has been designed, and it is proposed that the spot scanning imaging based on the single scanning micromirror is a good resolution of realizing the microdisplay system.
