With the prevalence of the informationization technology, web portal welcomes its quick advent. A portal is a web site that serves as a starting point to other destinations or activities on the Web.Often portals provide a personalised, single point of access to various application systems and online resources. And B2B E-business is the most profitable commercial mode in current China, which aggregates numbers of enterprises online and prompt a huge market abounding with tradeing information.To build a e-Business trading market tailored to China's small-and-medium-sized export-oriented enterprises, the thesis discusses the design and implementation of a B2B trading portal system(ePortal for the following use). ePortal renders a platform-indepentent personalized portal interface to different types of customers(such as suppliers, buyers and service, providers ), which enables them to interact with people, content, application and process in an individulized, safe, and single point way, providing a unified entry and individualized operation interface for their business intercourse.Based on the study of the content and characristics of portal , the thesis defines ePortal as a neutral matchable horizontal portal and puts up a whole set of portal solution. The solution comprises information service, application service and client service, on which process design and database design are made concretely resulting in a comprehensive implementation process. Besides, the thesis takes the reuse of web page , performace enhancement of data access and improvement of customer experience as the three key problems to discuss. It first puts up two examples to illustrate how reuse technology is applied in ePortal. Then, based on the results of a web capacity test, it puts up two ways to improve the data-access efficiency, one is to use the database connection pool and the other is to optimize the config of weblogic server, both of which are proved to be effective by experiments. Lastly, it introduces in detail how to implemente state-of-the-art Web2.0 techchnology--AJAX to enchance the web client experiences.
