Petri Net is a formal, graphical, executable technique for the specification and analysis of concurrent, discrete-event dynamic systems. However, when modeling complicated control system, basic Petri net may lead to the problem of node number explosion. Inhibitor-combination arc can illustrate not only the effect of places combined to enable a transition but also the situation that the fire of the transition does not change tokens of some of the input places. In the process of modeling the belt conveyer interlock control system, a model based on time Petri net is established and folded into a model based on inhibitor-combination colored time Petri net. In this way, the model's abstraction ability is enhanced and its complexity is decreased. Also, the superiority of inhibit-combination arc in realistic applications is demonstrated in the modeling.Modeling and simulation are becoming increasingly important enablers in the analysis and design of complex systems. To tackle problems of ever increasing complexity, modeling and simulation research is shifting from simulation techniques to modeling methodology and technology. Multi-paradigm modeling, concerned with the coupling of and transformation between models described in different formalisms, can give a representation of models in diverse formalisms, at different levels of abstraction, and the behavior-conserving transformation between the formalisms is demonstrated. So automatic modeling of inhibitor-combination colored time Petri net derived from rule description method is presented. And also the method is illustrated through modeling process of auto-car Body Control system.
