The Designment And Realization About Jilin Middle Vocational School Student Information Management System

In recent years, with the popularity of computers, computer and related technology are widely used in the whole society. MIS is getting a necessary means of doing routine work, management and making a decision for many enterprises. MIS obtains related information by processing the data of the enterprises going on in order to control the action of enterprises and make a prediction for the future by making a good use of past and present data as well as related models and give a good aid for the management activities of the enterprises.Jilin Middle Vocational School Student Information Management System developed and designed by the author is a typical MIS. Before we do the development and design, we carefully studied Law of Vocational Education and related students management policies and took Jilin Middle Vocational School's real situation as an example, absorbed and made a good use of experience of related management information system, paid special attention to the real work of present Middle Vocational School student management, considered the changes happening in the future in students management. We develop this set of MIS in order to meet the requirements of variety of educational management departments and Middle Vocational School. The MIS uses Visual basic.net as the main application programming development for its front platform and Sql Server 200 as its information data for its backer. So we can use present popular software developing technology and methods, finish the programming development management quickly and effectively on the basis of 4 oriented programming designs. at the same time ensure the data safe, whole and accurate when being visited. This system will face 4 kinds of users: province, region, school and students. So it is necessary to make the management system netted. In order to meet the requirements of users, C/S and B/S structures are combined effectively, which is the best choice of the system solving plan, which is also the characteristic of the system.This system finished the students'routine management of vocational schools, such as: register management, choosing courses management, grades management and grant management. The following is the details of the management system explanation.( 1 ).Outline of the system.It is about the contents of the whole structure of the system, developing methods and key technologies. It is composed of 4 parts: that is sub- system of registration, choosing courses, grading management, and grants. The developing methods are Visual Basic 6.0.NET and Sql Server 2000. key technology is ADO data visiting technology, ADO.NET visiting technology as well as UML system building model technology.(2) The main function of sub- system of register management:*Beginning students'electronic registration finished: schools collect the information of registered students and report it to the chief department in the given time and finally summed at the department of vocational education of bureau of education for reference.*Changed register management:When students registers need to be changed, for example: adjourning studying, beginning studying again, repeater ,accelerated students, checking in, checking out ,changing majors, changing courses, stopping studying, withdrawal, school can apply for the register change information by the system, the chief department can receive the applied information and make out a decision according to different real situations. When the application is permitted, the part of the school can make the change and report the information to the chief development.*Checking of graduate data:When students are going to graduate, the chief management department will check the data on beginning students registration and changes in students'files, ensure there is no fault, diplomas can be given.Forming graduate data:When diplomas are done,chief management department form graduate data with secrets. Only users having super right can maintain and manage graduate data.(3) The main function of choosing courses sub- management system.* Teachers'courses arrangement: teachers can apply for, revise and manage related courses by using the system.* Students'choosing courses: students can look up academic credit of learnt courses and choose related courses by the system.*Checking of choosing courses:Teaching chief department can deal with the applications of teachers courses and manage the whole situation of students choosing courses.*Checking students and teachers:In order to improve the enthusiasm of teacher's teaching and students'learning, the function of checking students by teachers and teachers by students is added to the system to improve the teaching quality.(4) The main function of grades sub- management system:*Feeding grades: it can be done by the teachers or teaching management department. The analysis of papers can be filled in and comments on students can be given. * Checking the grades: teaching management department check and ensure the fed grades and add them to the sum store of graduates and forming the name lists of missing–examinees, re-examinees, grade position, which is checked and ensured by teaching management department.* Grade inquirement: students inquire the grades by the Internet.(5) The main function of grants sub- management system:* Introduction of data: it can get the students'basic data from sub-system of register management.* The management of grants information: it can register the information of grant applicants and the grants being given monthly.* The management of taking the place of real workers in practice: it can register the information of students taking the place of real workers. This system has been used in 300 Middle Vocational Schools in Jilin province since 2005, which ran smoothly and realized the predictive functions of developing at the beginning, but in the procedure of being used, we met some problems in techniques and management, we shall solve them in the future.In a word, the application of the system is to meet the requirements of Jilin middle vocational schools students management job information as well as science and technology information times. This is also a good chance to broaden vocational education's influence, to make vocational schools well-known; it is helpful for schools growing on large scale, regularity and scientific aspect; it is useful for variety teaching administrative departments manage systematically and make reasonable decisions.
