Design And Realization Of Jilin University Library's Management System Of Book CD

A library is an important department in the university, whereteachers and students acquire knowledge. Because a library works onthe storage of book material, the computer technology is used widelyin book management of the library. Recently, with the development ofcomputer technology and multimedia technology, the number of bookCD became larger and larger. While we enrich the library quantity,how to manage and utilize these book CD has become a big problem.There are three ways to manage and utilize (borrow to read) the bookCD: the first one is lending the CD to readers? the second one isutilizing the CD in the electronic reading room of library, CD notallowed to be lent out? the third one is copying the CD to the specificserver of library, then uploading to school web for the teachers andstudents'downloading. Comparing the above three ways, it is easy tofind that the first two ways are the continuing and expanding oftraditional library service, which are easy to be managed, but havedistinctive disadvantages: the specific quality and character of CDmake itself easy to be worn away, damaged , wounded and lost, eveninfluencing the utilization of the book CD.Furthermore these two ways are limited in the time of lending andlibrary's opening and the book CD can only be used by readers in alimited quantity. The third way makes full use of internet technology,overcoming the weakness of the above two methods from the base,and CD online makes the readers use CD at any time without thelimitation of space. The same CD can be used by different readers atany campus and at any time,realizing the sharing of the content andinformation of the book CD. All in all, managing the book CD onlinehas many advantages, which is gradually utilized by universities'library more and more. This thesis, combining the author'workingexperience in the library of Jilin University, has introduced how tobuild a type of simple and practical library management system ofbook CD. At present, the management system of book CD used in our libraryis composed with ASP, but it has its own limitations. JSP can adaptmarket requirements to 85% servers, and it is much better than ASP atthe aspects of safety, function and speed. JSP technology can not onlyachieve to stride over ground to ground and to be compatible of allkinds of web servers, but also brings the great Java technology to thenet pages. If JavaBean technology is used to pack routine logic (theparts possibly achieved) in JSP program, business logic and thedisplayed part can be separated, the system will become stronger andlivelier. The paper has designed and operated the library managementsystem by the technical plan, JSP+ Tomcat+ Oracle which means touse JSP as developing language for Web server port, to use Tomcat asthe engines of Web server and JSP, to use Oracle as back ground database management system.So the library management system of book CD could be built up.This paper has introduced the relevant technologies like JSP andJava at first. In view of the characteristics of library managementsystem of book CD and its functionrequirement of system, a complete plan of the website has been made.The author designed the library data management system, which isdivided according to the dividing of the legal power__ whether theusers of signing on is the manager of system or common users. Themanager can manage various pieces of information, and at the sametime common users only check and download information. Accordingto the users'right , the system provides different function model.Function models are operated by common users: searching libraryinformation, checking and downloading CD data, managing bankaccount, and registering the new numbered account. Besides operatingall the function models common users have, the users of managers alsoown the super management model of the back ground managementsystem. Supermanagementmodel includes three big models: usermanagement, news management, and CD data management.Data base is the core and base of information system, and is theimportant part of development and building information system, whichorganizes great amount of data of the information system according tospecific model, providing function of storage, maintenance, indexingdata, making information system acquire necessary information fromdata bases conveniently, immediately and correctly. In the design of motive web, the importance of data design is distinctive. Reasonabledesign of data base structure may promote efficiency of storage of data,ensuring the completeness and union of data. If the design is notreasonable, checking is hard and the function of the procedure will beinfluenced. According to the requirement of data management oflibrary CD and dividing of the function model, aiming at therequirement of common library data management of CD, the functionof data base is illustrated in the operation of providing, maintenance,renewing and searching, including user information, CD information,news information. Every part of data content has internal connection,so a data base is designed in this system including several data lists,user information list, attachment list of user information, informationlist of new column, new information list, and information list of CDdata.This system utilizes the idea of software engineering facingobject, sealing the users, user management, and uploadingmanagement of files into correspondence type, at the same time, eachtype has its own correspondence operation type, promoting the safetyof operating the data base and the expanding of the procedure.This system is an account of B/S three parts data base appliedsystems. The first part is to use browser for operator to submit serviceto Web. The Web server in second part specifically takes the role oflogic processing for requesting. Data trade is made according to therequest and data base server in the third part. The required resultdisplayed on the browser. The first part goes back to the user, so thelongdistanceoperation goal is achieved. Each of the three parts formsits own system, the function that one change in one part not affect theother two, suits any one operational system of the bottom. B/Sstructure simplifies the processing on consumer's computer whichneeded just to install browser. The server will take more work and thevisit to data base and working program will be completed on it.This system owns friendly boundary, clear mould, easy operation,convenience for handling, very practical and stable performance, easyto promote, maintain and update. It has extensive applied prospects.With the development of the computer technology, the internet ofbook CD management has become an inevitable tendency. It makesthe reader utilize book CD conveniently, at the same time reduce thelibrarians'tasks and strengthens the protection of the original CD. So with the development of internet, the management system of bookCD plays an unchanged role in the informationbased library.
