With the development of automobile industry, the security and the comfort of automobile should be improved. Automobile cruise control system (CCS) can ease the press of driver, and improve the comfort of driving. So the study on CCS is of great importance.The automobile CCS'development and developing trend of CCS are involved in this thesis, many control schemes of cruise control system are introduced, such as PID control, self-adaption control, fuzzy control and iterative study control. The new control scheme is put forward, which combines PID control with Fuzzy-control, Fuzzy-PID control can fuzzy by control rule, then the result can be adjusted online through PID parameters, surmounts the localization of PID control and Fuzzy-control in application. The new control scheme obtains good effect.Automobile dynamics model is designed. Simulation of the automobile cruise control system by MATLAB with above controlling method is applied. Simulation model of the system is established and the design process is explained briefly.Then the hardware structure and application circuit of CCS are designed. CPU, power chip and drive control chip of cruise control system are introduced. Process designing idea is put forward. Main flowchart of cruise control, motor control, AD conversion and calculation of vehicle speed are described in detail. After the system design is finished, it is debugged on the automobile cruise control platform in the laboratory, and the result proves that the control strategy is quite good and is of high reliability.
