With the development of computer graphics, visualization in scientific computing is developing fast. Especially vector fields visualization is applied in CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) widely.First on the basis of study 2D steady vector fields, a new method of Study of application for visualization based on time delay on vector fields is proposed. Then 2D unsteady vector fields is studied .Aisualization based on seeds control algorithm on vector fields is proposed.2D steady vector fields is studied. A new method about create, protract and display pathlines step by step based on time delay is presented. It can accurately depict topology,direction and velocity at any points of 2D steady vector fields as a form of animation.Then 2D unsteady vector fields is studied .UFLIC is analysed. One weakness of UFLIC is time-consuming to generate frames, the improved method is proposed. The effect that reduced the time of advect frames was achieved by flexible algorithm and reuse and copy relative pathlines. First seeds release is studied, flexible seeds release strategy is proposed. This strategy includes spatial flexibility and temporal flexibility. Then pathlines'save, copy, reuse and delete is studied, fourth order Runge-Kutta integration and a cubic hermite polynomial is used. The time-accurate value scattering scheme and the successive texture feed-forward strategy are used to maintain temporal-spatial coherence. It can protract and display vector fields as a form of animation.
