With the increasing global economy integration and market competition, how to develop products efficiently and to meet market demand is the key point by which enterprises can keep superiority in competition. The collaborative design technology, integrating distributed computing technology, multimedia technology, and grid technology with advanced manufacture technology, is to support team work effectively, helping group members finish product design work with division cooperation and good arrangement under the distributed share network situation, so that the product development cycle is shorten as much as possible.Pervasive computing is a revolution of computing pattern. It is the amalgamation space between cyberspace and concrete world. In the space, people can get digital service everywhere at any time. It is true that great changes in various scientific and practical fields will take place because of the pervasive computing pattern. First is the traditional collaborative design project, based on computer and network. And how remote collaborative design tasks can be done effectively in the new environment? Existing collaborative design software structure cannot meet the demand of the pervasive computing pattern. The only solution is to design advanced software architecture.This paper studies the key technologies of collaborative design based on ubiquitous environments firstly, and develops an advanced collaborative design framework for the pervasive environments. The advanced framework is based on the current distributed object computing technology and grid service, by introduced the ideas of pervasive computing, namely, computations everywhere at any time. Secondly, the collaborative conflict solution mechanism is discussed and the unit module conflict detection algorithm is described. Finally, the P-HUSTCAID remote synchro collaborative prototype system is designed and realized. The system has the following functions: (1) remote drawing two-dimension graphic element, (2) remote drawing three-dimension graphic entity, (3) remote labeling entity, (4) remote session with others, (5) remote whiteboard etc. Furthermore, in order to perfect the system security, a special module is designed, which is used to define accessing level. The prototype system has been validated elementarily and completed remote collaborative design task success-fully.
