With the fast development in our country's greenhouse industry these years, more advanced and innovative technologies are requested to improve geenhouse environment control. And the great advancement in web technology makes it flexible to apply the Internet based remote monitor technology in the greenhouse environment control. Thus, it makes sense to develop a intelligent control system for greenhouse environment by combining new results from computer technology, intelligent control and information technology researches.The feasibility of developing a web-based greenhouse control system was investigated, and different web-based monitor patterns were analyzed. A realizable plan about developing a Web-based remote control and monitor intelligent system for greenhouse environment was proposed according to the actual conditions.In view of the experensive price of vedio spy systems currently available, a new remote vedio spy system was developed based on the JMF mutlimedia toolkit according the actual demand and develop cost. In addition to the strength of low cost, the system has advantages in smooth and stable broadcasting, independent of the platform.The insufficiency of the control algorithm, exposed during the greenhouse running process, was analyzed. Paying full attention to the control cost, a greenhouse energy saving expert control system was developed based on expert knowledge such as the expression method of "rule-skeleton + rule-body" and greenhouse control experience aquired in the past. And the system performs well in perspective of energy saving.Embeded with the energy-saving expert control system and the vedio spy system, a Web-based greenhouse remote intelligent control system was developed. The system offers functions including online data monitor, data inquiry, diagram display, Web-based online control, and vedio spy in applet as well. And it used technoledge of Ajax to improve the response speed in web control.At last, the achievements of this paper were concluded, the shortcomings were analyzed and some opinions were proposed for future work.
