With the increasing market competition, the corporations must consider how to reduce cost and upgrade the work efficiency. To satisfy the practical demands, workflow management system (WfMS) which takes auto-transaction as target has emerged. Applying WfMS to manage information and operations, corporations will be able to not only induce manual works and upgrade work efficiency but also improve operation's quality by reducing mistakes which arises from manual works. Resource scheduling module is the core of the WfMS, which takes charge of allocating the resources into every work items. With corporation's development, the conflict between the increasing amount of transaction and the limited amount of resources may be more and more serious. How to conquer this conflict has become the hotspot. By studying existent scheduling systems in WfMS, a new type of resource scheduling system which bases on two-phase scheduling framework is proposed in the thesis. Combining the scheduling manner which simulates 'bidding-determining' process, the resource scheduling system will be able to get better schedule and be more flexible and efficacious.Firstly, today's research hotspots about workflow are briefly introduced in this thesis. The resource scheduling is especially discussed. Then the shortages of these traditional scheduling systems is pointed out and a new type of resource scheduling framework is proposed which bases on two-phase scheduling. Secondly, the architecture of the resource scheduling system which bases on the workflow referenced model is presented in the thesis. Then two parts of the system: resource-finding module and schedule-optimizing module are detailed. The correlative theories, algorithms and performance are studied. Finally, the resource scheduling system which bases on J2EE platform is implemented and the experiment is carried out. According to results of the experiment, it is proved that the new type of scheduling system is feasible and the schedule is optimum in real-time, which approaches the overall optimum schedule. In brief, the thesis is not only the innovation of resource scheduling system in WfMS but also the exploration in scheduling theory.
