Research And Implementation Of The On-line Uyghur Handwriting Recognition Technology

Along with the popularization of the portable digital equipment, such as personaldigital assistant and handset, the handwriting input application is more and morewidespread. Although the Chinese, English handwriting input technology is quite mature,the on-line Uyghur handwriting input product has not been reported yet.This paper first introduces the development of the on-line handwriting recognitiontechnology and the main handwriting input technology of Chinese and English. In thisfoundation, this paper researches the plan and the implementation of the on-line Uyghurhandwriting, and the main work is:(1) This paper compares the characteristic structure of Uyghur, Chinese and English,proposes the Uyghur characteristic set for on-line recognition, and designes thecharacteristic code, such as main direction code, the number of strokes, the number ofdots, and so on.(2) Gather the coordinates sequences of handwriting Uyghur characteristic through thehandwriting board, carry on pretreatment, such as filter, and collect the characteristiccodes based on the Uyghur characteristic set and the characteristic collecting algorithm.These codes form the eigenvector.(3) Establish characteristic template database, use C-means of dynamically cluster toget the divided subclasses, and get the average eigenvector as the standard template.(4) Use the piecewise linear sorter to classify the input character.The experimental result indicated that, this recognition method is feasible, and theaccuracy is higher than 90%.The technology of on-line Uyghur handwriting recognition is just at the experimentalstage. This paper has only conducted some groping research to one recognition method,and just provides some reference to the further research.
