Optical code division multiple access(OCDMA) technology is one of hot research points in optical communication, meanwhile, the demand of all optical network is becoming heavy , so the utilize of fiber as a transmission medium in access network is considered to be one inevitable trend in developing of access network. The key technology and application of OCDMA in optical access network are researched on this background. We combine OCDMA with DWDMA (Dense Wavelength Division Multiple Access), and use the combined system in access network.The characteristics of the various types of address code are analyzed. The performance of these codes is analyzed. Finally, the BER between OOC and PC is compared. The conclusion is gotten: the performance of OOC is far better than PCs'under the same code length and the same code numbers, and the code number of OOC is bigger than the PCs'under the same code length and the same BER. Some researchers'wrong point is redressed.A mathematical model of the system is established for the OCDMA/DWDMA system agriculture. We analyze the system in theory and simulation in considering only the main factors affecting system performance. The results show that the OCDMA/DWDMA system meets the prerequisite of communication quality, greatly increases the number of access users in access network, and increases the flexibility of bandwidth allocation and the scalability of access numbers.Finally, a summary of the paper is done.
