Wireless sensor network is a kind of self-organizing network, which is composed of a vast amount of small nodes equipped with sensing, transmitting and proccesing capability, connected via multi-hop wireless links. As the advanced form of wireless sensor networks, wireless audio sensor network is a novel research field, which is data centric one.This thesis mainly focuses on the design and implementation of wireless audio sensor node system. First, we detail the related research background, system architecture and distinct characteristics. Second, based on analysis and research on TinyOS, we design a resonable scheme for transplanting TinyOS application onto other micro-processors and propose a design principle for the hardware description layer components of TinyOS, in order to organize and manage the hardware resource efficiently. Third, we implement a practical wireless audio sensor node system to meet wireless audio sensor nodes' special requirements on audio data processing from the aspects of function and performance, thus fit for the hardware characteristic of wireless audio sensor nodes. Finally, a series of test experiments are performed to verify the effectiveness of our system. Compared with other existing wireless sensor nodes from the aspect of data throughput, the advantage of wireless audio sensor node we designed is obvious. However, the wireless audio sensor node still has its limitation on stability need to be solved.
