The rapid development of Internet has basically changed the life style of people, and the communion and communication between people become more convenient and faster. But at the same time, it also becomes possible that the openning of Internet has made the data been attacked during transmitting. Therefore, the security of the data on Internet has become a significant title in the information security field. As a new branch of information security, Steganography emerges as the times required. Steganography embeds secret information into digital media to implement convert communication. The thesis introduces the basic theory of steganography, and discusses the advantage of the human visual system in steganography, and researches the steganography based on human visual system, which is the principal concern of this study, and proposes an improved bit-plane complexity segmentation steganography.Bit-plane complexity segmentation (BPCS) steganography algorithm has changed the statistical characteristics of the complexity between cover image. The thesis analyses different statistical characteristics of the complexity on each bit-plane of original image, and sets thresholds for each bit-plane, and embeds secret information into each block. The method can effectively against steganalysis of stastistical characteristics, and has better capacity. The improved steganography method takes advantage of human visual system, and disucsses the differences between neighborning pixels on bit-plane block from level, upright and diagonal directions, and defines the block irregularity. Therefore, the improved method has better imperceptibility. The thesis compares the improved bit-plane complexity segmentation steganography method with some current steganography methods based on human visual system. Experimental results show that, by analysizing performance, the proposed steganography method provides better imperceptibility, capability and invulnerability.
