Digital Television Subscriber Management System Analysis And Design

Nowadays, the hottest in cable industry is DTV. The core of DTV is Subscriber Management System (SMS). It is educed not only by government's highlight, but also more and more pay channels are founded. And on the other hand, in China, it is a trend that more and more cable service providers start to use SMS.For DTV industry is only in its babyhood, the cable service providers and SMS providers are seeking the solution now. Existing SMS's can't meet their requirement. Based on analyzing SMS's essential functions, blending with my experience, I discussed SMS's direction in customer service, business and technology.And because cable industry is one of the backbones of a country, SMS should put the environment and situation of the country, including policies, the program providers'requirement and some special management requirement.Based on all above, I introduce the SMS module. I explain SMS from system goal, architecture, performance and functions. In the last of this thesis, some sample codes are presented.The difficulty to realize this system is it has so many interfaces with external system, such as CAS, bank system, cable system, stock system, program platform, etc. It is an integrated industry application system.
