With the development of the science and technology, informationization, digitization and intelligence are being paid more and more attention. No doubt that the appearance of all sorts of intelligent products will promote the development of the intelligent vehicles. How to enhance the driving security so as to reduce the traffic-accident-rate has become an attentive topic of the industrial field.This paper targets the visual guidance system of the intelligent vehicles. Based on the image processing techniques, data segmentation is applied to the stereo sequences to obtain the positional information of the interested area. A feasible method has been proposed to preprocess binocular images with complicated changing background after conducting large numbers of experiments. This method can fleetly and effectively remove useless information from original images, obtain the interested image region, thus reduce the data processing of the following binocular-video image sequence analysis and the computation work, monish the analysis scope, and enhance the processing speed. A software platform is built to perform this algorithm and prove its feasibility. The paper also aims at the moving object recognition in the image sequences, The author did some algorithmic analysis fundamental research work and the experimental work, then proposed a moving target detecting and tracking method which combines the optical flow method with matching method. We have given the detailed algorithm mentality and the flow chart, and experimented on the software platform to obtain certain result.Firstly, this paper makes a brief introduction about the present situation and the development of intelligent vehicle, and analyses the situation and the development of vision system. Secondly, the topic gives the detailed introduction to each kind of classical image processing algorithm, then gives the experimental result images after classical algorithm processing, and analyses the experimental result, and causes to have the direct-viewing impression to the algorithm, which is helpful in a following article content better understanding. Thirdly, it proposes a feasible algorithm in view of this topic goal and the request, and gives the detailed algorithm flow chart and experimental steps, and the processing result, and has carried on the analysis and the summary to the experimental result. Finally, it makes the summarization of the disadvantages and flaws in the work, and forecasts the future studies.
