Researchers have paid more attention to the photorefractive materials with the development of optical fiber communication, optical signal processing and optical computer. Photorefractive polymer was a new nonlinear optical material beginning to study from the end of twentieth century and it may be used for optical fiber sensors for the superior property.Photorefractive polymer materials which combined inorganic photosensitizer with organic basal body would have the superior property than those of the individual components.It both enhance the property of photoelectricity and machinery.then it would be the new focus of photorefractive materials.In this paper. we have investigated the development of photorefractive polymer materials, prepared a new organic-inorgnic nanocomposite photorefractive material of PVK-CdS/DO3/ECZ ,then characterized it and studied the property of photoconduction and photorefraction.It would be the basic theories for new type of optical fiber sensors.In this paper, three parts of work have been done as follow:(1)As photosensitizers,CdS was combined with PVK by chemical hybridization. It dispersed equably in basal body with the particle diameter of 10~30 nm. The nanocomposite prepared by chemical hybridization improves makes the charge carrier transport through the interface between PVK and CdS nanoparticles. It can hinder the excitons recombination,enhance the concentration and life time of the excitons ,cut down the phase separation. DO3and ECZ were doped in PVK-CdS as nonlinear optical chromophore and plasticizer to prepare PR materials.(2)Film samples of PVK-CdS and PVK were prepared by Rotation for photoconduction experiment. We choose He-Ne laser as the illuminant, the mobility of photogenerated carrier related mostly with the external electric field . With the successfully chemical hybridization,the photocurrent enhanced sharply.(3) A PR film sample of PVK-CdS/DO3/ECZ was prepared for two beam coupling experiment. In the experiment, energy transferring from one beam to another one successfully, a two-beam coupling coefficient of 13.9 cm-1 and a diffraction efficiency of 2.1% was obtained without any electric field.
