During the long time, the techniques of normal traditional animation are complicated, however, it cost a lot of manpower, resources, as well as huge quantities of work to operate by hand. what's more, it has a long cycle as well as relative high doing-over-rate and masses of fund.The introduction of computer animation result in a revolution in the field of cartoon, which is reflected on two aspects: speed and effect.Nowadays, the development of computer animation both home and abroad is growing rapidly. A variety of new methods, new techniques are created in the process of creating two-dimension and three-dimension cartoon images, which more or less use computer aided design instead of animation by hand. It has gradually realized the popularity of computer, as a result, plenty of fantastic animation works are coming into being. Combining the advantages of hand and computer animation will be the trend of the future production of cartoons.This thesis focuses on how to develop a 2D computer animation-making editor, realizing the drawing and simple motion of two-dimension object. At the same time to reduce the drawing part (that is the drawing of key frames), and take advantage of the computer interpolation to realize the process of movement.This thesis is based on the computer graphic study, doing research in the drawing and editing of vector graphic, animation key frames and the realization of cartoons. The chapter 4 is the entire design of this system. Introduce and analyzes the primary functions. Chapter 5 analyzes the data structure of graphic class and character class as well as the definition of them in detail .Afterwards, it introduces the realization approaches to some key techniques. Such as the basic graphic drawing, how to combine the graphic to character and how to preserve and introduce the graphic. Chapter 6 completes the realization parts of action design and editor. Sample driving technology is also introduced besides linear interpolation technology. Also introduces some animation effects generated by arithmetic control technology. In addition, the sound broadcast system is inserted, therefore, adding the real feeling of cartoon scene.
