As the important part of modern logistics technology, automatic warehouses have the advantage of highly utilization of space and powerful productivity of storage/retrieval and could be controlled by computers for automatic control of conveying cargoes, which contribute to that it satisfy demands of modern management of enterprises. As a result, automatic warehouses have played indispensable role in logistics management of modern enterprises.The automatic warehouse management information system is a kind of application software that can manage staff, stock, working hours, order form and facility in warehouses. Through it, could resources be efficiently managed, storage tasks be reasonable arranged and the status of facilities be real time monitored. Management Systems in varied enterprises can be linked together by network to share resources and optimize stock structure. And it can also communicate with storage equipments to control them enforce storage task. In conclusion, the management information System has a decisive effect on the performance of automatic warehouse. The main purpose of it is to reduce inventory cost of produces in order to raise enterprises' market competence.The object of this paper is the automatic warehouses model in college of logistic engineering, Wuhan university of technology. In terms of the model's demands about facilities, storage strategy and logistics management, researches have been given priority to fields of 3-Dimension visualization, logistics warehousing technology and information-based management for developing a WMS with practical value. The main content of researches is as follows. First, animation of storage process in automatic warehouses are accomplished by using 3D visualization and database technology to help warehouse managers get intuitionistic information rather than bald data. Second, management strategies are researched for analyzing and disposing stock information, including design database, arrange storage location, formulate stock policies, etc, which enable managers to scientific management of warehouses. Third, different automatic warehouses are connected by networks to share resource and exchange information.The workflow, database and system framework have been designed according to the object in this study. In the process of the development, VC++ and OpenGL are used as the main developing tool and the database is constructed by SQL Server. The thesis has introduced in detail studies about visualization, management and informationization for automatic warehouses management information system. The method of research is based on software engineering principle and possess an evident universality, which is applied to develop others 3-Dimension visualization system.
