The purpose of this paper is achieving bitmap vectorization in EAPT by combine image vectorization technique with auto-programming technique. This paper analyses the image processing technique of the three steps in image vectorization process, image preprocessing, edge detection and vectoring.Image prepocessing include two steps, smoothing and binarization. Image smoothing can remove the noise in image to improve the quality of image. We compared three kinds of algorithm for image smoothing and get the best one. In image binarization processing this paper introduces routine algorithms for threshold selecting and particular analyses the algorithm we used in the project.In the step of edge detection this paper introduce some general theory of mathematical morphology and improve the thinning algorithm based on mathematical morphology. For edge detection we list some edge detectors in common use.The steps of vectorization include contour tracing and fitting. This paper tells some commonly used vectoring methods, and deeply analyses the improved vectoring method based on line-tracing algorithm.
