Due to current Web servers which are lack in Web Qos mechanism can`t support web applications with service differentiation or Qos guarantees. To meet the growing demand for performance requirement of web sevices. This paper uses self-managing technology to provide Qos guarantees of web services. Some expansion and improvement are made into the previous self-managing model of web server, design and implement a new Apache Self-Managing System,Called ASMS.This system analyzes apache web server status through online monitoring, and adjusts the allocation of server resource according to the strategy which is provided by performance analytic models when is needed..So that the Qos requirements of Apache server are constantly met .ASMS also contains admission control and service status monitor mechanisms, It can make the apache server to be self-configuration,self-healing,self-optimization and self-protection which are functions belongs to self-managing system. We studied the performance analytic models and arithmetics in the ASMS. A control interval self-adapted arithmetic based on geometric proportion which is used to dynamically vary the length of the control interval is invented to overcome the shortcoming of fix control interval,It can make ASMS meet the demand of the variability of the workload. Finally, experiments are conducted for evaluating the efficiency of the ASMS.The results showed that the ASMS can improve the performance and the Qos of apache server constantly. The control interval self-adapted arithmetic can help the ASMS to control Qos of apache more smoothly.
