The rapid development of computer network technology and wireless communications technology provides users with simple and elegant wireless mobile computing platforms. With the growing maturity of wireless mobile network technologies, it enters the wireless personal computing times. Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN)is the small-scale wireless networks, which is people-centered and composed of various small handheld devices, mostly used in the family. WPAN brings more convenience to people's lives. Meanwhile people's demands to WPAN are still rising. With the increment of the number of WPAN's nodes and more types of services it can provide, it continues to increase wireless networks Media Access Protocol to the new demands.Currently, the MAC Protocol for Wireless Personal Area Networks standard is the IEEE 802.15.3 MAC protocol that is mainly for wireless Piconet structure. It is based on the access control and suitable to real-time data transmission. However, due to the uniqueness of UWB signals, IEEE 802.15.3 MAC protocol brings some deficiencies. Hence there are many improvements over IEEE 802.15.3 MAC protocols.In this paper, for real-time massive data transmission, we present two new MAC protocols, the first one named TDBMPP is based on transmissible distance under control and the second is Token based protocol.Originally, IEEE 802.15.3 can't support parallel data stream, hence the payload capacity is frequently kept in the lower level. TDBMPP protocol uses IEEE 802.15.3 protocol super framework as a basis, combines with TDMA, then increases capacity by lower power so as to reduce UWB signal transmissible distance, which in turn reduces the signal interference.Further, a novel token-based TDBMPP protocol is put forward. In the protocol, PNC node judges the data flow when there is a collision among the data flows. While engaging in the data transmission, the equipment analyses a specific token frame during the exchange process. Based on the data flow types and conflict situations, the two-channel and the software methods are taken for the problem solving.The analysis and simulation show that the new algorithms improve the efficiency of data transmission, improve network capacity. UWB MAC protocol plays an important role in promoting WPAN, it is still at the early stage however.
