As a novel WFS, the wavefront curvature sensor comprising a diffraction grating(DGWFS), which consist a defocus grating and lens, and can measure the wavelength distribution at the two defocused spots simultaneity , has the advantage of realization easily, adjustment expediently, low cost , and so on. The DGWFS has a wide application in astronomy, measurement, laser, optical component testing etc. This dissertation presented a novel method for measurement on solid-state laser thermal lens utilizing DGWFS; the validity is analyzed and confirmed by experiments. The thermal lens of SSHCL and DPSSL is measured, which derived an ideal result and confirmed the validity of this experimental application. The main works that have been done are as follows:1,Introduction the principle of DGWFS, where the measurement on thermal lens utilizing DGWFS is presented and the theoretical analysis of experimental setup and precision are discussed. The imagination of compensation to the thermal lens is also presented in this chapter.2,We experiment to measure SSHCL's thermal lens utilizing DGWFS. When we were measuring at beginning, we found the coma is very strongly. About 20secs later, the thermal lens was obvious. We compare the experimental result to theoretical computation and to the Hartmann sensor's results, the results are relatively identical. We analyze the error of measurement. We also use this new method on the thermal lens measurement of DPSSL. The experimental results are compared to the theory. The results have distinction, but the changing directions are identical. The limitation of the experiments is also discussed.
