This paper introduces a robot which can search the power supply to charge itself. There are several technologies such as infrared sensor technology, ultrasonic sensor technology, step motor's driving technology, serial A/D technology, serial chip driving display's technology, infrared communication technology and automatic charging technology. All these technologies are applying in the robot design. The designed technologies can be applied in industrial robots, service robots and other robot toys. So it has a broad application prospects.There are some main modules in this paper as follow: the step motor's drivingmodule, the infrared detection module, the ultrasonic detection module, the serial A/D module, the display module, the infrared communication module and the automatic recharging module.In the step motor's driving module, it uses two step motors to drive the two front wheels which has two functions, the first one is to make the robot come afford, the second one is to make the robot turn the corner. And the infrared sensor also can achieve two targets, one is to detect the circumference of the robot in order to keep away from the barriers, the last one is to communicate with another microchip. And these two modules are the most important parts in the design.
