With the rapid development and great popularity of modern communication technology, a higher request has been raised for information transmission safety. Based on scrambling, information hiding techniques are discussed in this thesis, in which the static images are applied as carriers. The major works involved are as follows:1. The Arnold transformation is always being used in one direction. In this thesis, a modification has been given on Arnold transformation. While the modified Arnold transformation is used to scramble a digital image in two directions, the computing cost are reduced notably and the result of scrambling has a more improvement. By using secret key in scrambling, the security of the algorithm is increased. The approaches are easy and realize, and can be used as the preprocessing for the digital image information hiding.2. Secret code AES is the latest and the most safety secret code, it can stick up to any attack of the existing attack method now. Up to now, any fault or obvious leak in secret code AES has not been discovered. But the secret code AES is used deficiently. A new algorithm for digital image scrambling is presented in this thesis. The algorithm uses secret code AES scramble digital image with the original secret key generating by chaos sequence. The approaches are realized easily, and it will not miss any information. It will be a good method for the pre-processing of the digital image information hiding.3. Based on traditional mixed algorithm, a new adaptive algorithm on digital image information hiding is presented. In the algorithm the mixed coefficient is determined by utilizing the pixel distribution and color characteristic of the public image. Concerned with the image local characteristic and shelter characteristic of the human visual system the image information hiding is accomplished adaptively. The result images have a good invisibility. The approaches are simple, realized easily, and a large capacity of hiding information and a goodish robustness are achieved.
