Take the research and development of integrated bridge system as background; this paper studies the development of the autopilot in the integrated bridge system.At first, this paper introduces the phylogeny, actual status of the IBS, and modularizes the main duty of the IBS. Based on this, we integrate the track layout module, the course layout module and the helm system, and make full use of the PC software technique and neural network control technique to build up a powerful autopilot system.The paper imports the safety belt concept, and gives out a arithmetic to calculate the course. With it, we can get different course under different condition, and make the ship sail on the designed line.The paper also introduces the neural network theory, and makes detailed explanation about the knowledge representation and the study rule, give a full description about the advantage and disadvantage about this theory. Based on the complicated condition of the sea and the complicated running state, we give out a neural controller, which is independent of the some certain model. With strong adaptation, study ability and stability, this controller is easy to adapt to sailing on the sea.At the last part of the paper, we make a simulation of the system, which can proof the system in return.
