Abstract/Summary:
With the improvement of Utilizing and developing the resource of the sea, the research on underwater voice communications is getting more and more important. The underwater acoustic communication channel has characteristics of the bandwidth-limited, high temporal and spatial variability. The Single Side Band (SSB) which can save the frequency bandwidth, save the power and receive little effect from the channel condition is a pretty choice.Traditional SSB system was analogue, it was difficult to realize, and it always too big to be moved and test. SSB communication could solve these problems. We made the SSB voice communication system digital, and researched a digital SSB voice communication system, which realized real-time underwater SSB voice communications with a good quality. Development and research work in this paper are taken as follows:1) Through arguing about characteristic of voice and the module implement of SSB voice communication, the "filter way" implement was chose. Afterwards implement in digital was researched and emulation was accomolished.2) A real-time voice communication was designed which based on TMS320VC5510 DSP and TLV320AIC23 in this paper.3) The real time is confirmed by using batch-processing, and all programs are based on embedded real-time operating system DSP/BIOS, which makes application programming conveniently.Afer successfully debugged, the underwater voice SSB communication system achieves desired aim. Some experiments were done in Underwater Acoustic Channel in order to test the actual performance of the system. The software and hardware worked stabilized steadily and reliably, the effect of voice communication was perfect.
