Nowadays, computer controls more and more electronic devices. Almost all of the CPU and peripheral equipments provide PCI bus interface, for PCI bus has become the most extensive and universal bus standard in computer system. Therefore, developing PCI device driver is particularly valuable. In this paper, the method of PCI device driver development was introduced which based on the usage of VDR and has the platform of embedded operation system VxWorks.Audio Coding is used in various kinds of applications. Traditionally, reductions in data rate have been achieved by exploiting the redundancy which is inherent in audio signals. While recently, advanced audio coding algorithms have been proposed that consider human perception in order to further reduce data rates and maintain high fidelity at the same time.Firstly, this paper introduces the background and significance of the research. Secondly, developing method of device driver in VxWorks is showed in the first part and the key technique of the perceptual audio coding algorithm: psychoacoustic model is discussed. After researching of the psychoacoustic model, a novel model is proposed, which can raise the quality of coding and deduce the complexity of coding at the same time. Under the strict requirement of hardware limitation and real time, especially in VDR, this kind of model can be used in the near future. Finally, the thesis provides a summary of the current work and presents directions for future research in this field.
