Research On Technique About IR Small Ship Target Detection Of Complicated Sea-sky Background

At present, because the detection for small targets is an important research aspect in signal processing field, many scholars are engaging the research of detection for small targets. For the sake that the guidance system have enough reaction time, it must have the ability to detect the small targets far away, so,that bring out a problem for small target detection. However, because the infrared small target has characteristics that the distance is far, the area is small, the shape characteristic is weak and the detail characteristic is lost, all of that make it difficult to detect small target in the complicated background though it can make a favourable detect for the target nearby.It will be difficult to detect small targets when the background become complicated. The difficulty about the detection of IR small ship targets in the complicated sea-sky background is at background suppression. Because the small ship targets often appear in the sea-sky line region, the extraction of sea-sky line is very important for the purpose that to improve the detection ratio of small targets and decrease the false alarming ratio and reduce the detection time. The paper mainly expatiates about the methods of the sea-sky line extraction and the methods of the complicated background suppression.The paper pays more attention to the sea-sky line extraction.It put forward four methods after analyzing the characteristic of sea-sky line,and at last,it elicit the conclusion by experiment that the method based on the Hough-transition is excellent.The paper also do much work about the background suppression and the target detection.It investigate the gradient about the main part and the edge of surf and cloud,the sea-sky line and the small ship target,then it give forward a method baced on the multi-orientation gradient.At last ,the paper expatiate on the theories about the image threshold segmentation,and it do experiment about some of them.At last, we have summarized the main work and the obtained fruit in the paper, analyzed the matter and expected the extended work.
