Along with the development of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), traditional structure of WLAN will no longer be applicable for modern system both in cost and management. An effective structure of WLAN could manage the radio resource of the system more effectively. Radio resource management in centralized WLAN network is researched in this thesis, and the power controlling algorithm, load balancing algorithm and self-healing algorithm are proposed. In detail, the content refers to some aspects as follows:Firstly, the WLAN protocol system, the operating principle of MAC layer and PHY layer, the key technologies and network structure are summarized. Secondly, a channel allocation algorithm of the centralized WLAN is proposed, it could reduce the co-channel interference of APs, and the best partition of APs channel is realized. Thirdly, an algorithm that associates transmit power control with the hole-test method is proposed to optimize power allocation of network. The proposed method reduces RF interferences through adjustment of the transmit power of APs and improves the throughput of entire system at the same time, and the complete coverage of network is guaranteed. Existing load balancing algorithm is analyzed in the thesis, load balancing algorithms that based on number of users and network flow are compared, and an optimize algorithm which could control the traffic among the APs effectively is proposed. A self-healing algorithm based on centralized WLAN is proposed, the system will reallocate when AP has something wrong.
