Machine vision is composed of many subjects. It is not only a scientific subject but an engineering discipline. Image processing technique and machine vision technique are adopted to discuss the method how to apply the machine technique theory to Automatic Stake Test System, which is valuable to the research and application of compute vision technique.In this paper, the object of research is the Automatic Stake Test System. How to extract and recognize the moving object through image processing technique and machine technique in any background to compute the distance of the object and track automatically are the emphases of research in this paper.In the paper, information is picked up from images or serial images based on machine vision. The shape and movement of scenery and object will be identified in the impersonality world. The information of around circumstance will be captured and direction and speed of moving object are computed.1.An approach that combined background subtraction and temporal difference was adopted to analyze video sequence,segment moving field,detect moving object.2.An approach that combined TIFD and optical flow field was adopted to process pixels in image of temporal difference which grey value didn't equal to zero.3.Camera based on pinhole model was demarcated,deepness information of moving object in image was calculated.4.According to system of mobile robot and requests of stake test ,model designof mobile robot based on vision was researched.A whole frame of system is designed in Windows environment. Experimentalresults show that the moving objects can be extracted and recognized through the arithmetic, and it is more stable an quickly to track the object. The justice and nicety of the test will be improved.
