To the traditional C/S architecture, down load software which based on p2pnetwork solved the bottleneck of bandwidth on server. P2p network enhancedthe download speed. The media stream playing technology which is based on p2pnetwork is developing. It exactly is a new field about online playing systembased on p2p network.This thesis designs a online media playing system which based on p2p network.In this system, the server takes on collecting film information and the filmprovider information. The server also helps customers to get the better equitynode. The server also names index server since it does not provides contentof any film. All the customs also names equity node as it plays double role.The first role is client and the other is server. The system designs theprotocol of network data transport. This system use own network data frameand related parse algorithm. The whole network architecture is analysissitus.The system used LIFO algorithm to get the equity node during the media streamtransport process.This thesis implements the above design and developed a VOD system which basedon p2p network. The VOD system reaches well result both on transport speedand the playing quality after stress test. The VOD system solves the mediaplaying problems on C/S network. It is proved that the VOD system can servecampus media online playing well.
