Research On Ontology Integration Based On Semantic Mapping

With the extensive application of ontology in the field of information science, a mass of ontologies have been produced by the modern knowledge-intensive enterprises. In order to get advantage in the fierce competition and acquire better knowledge service, it is necessary to integrate these local ontologies for the enterprises. Nowadays, the existing ontology integration method could not satisfy the need of ontology integration very well. Therefore, a new method is studied to resolve the problems in ontology integration.Firstly, the research situations of the method and essential techniques of ontology integration are analyzed. Then according to the requirements of ontology integration, an ontology integration framework based on semantic mapping, whose components and principles are expounded in detail, is proposed. Afterwards, the essential techniques of the framework, ontology semantic mapping and ontology query based on semantic mapping, are deeply studied. The formalization of ontology is discussed. According to the definition and structure of the ontology's concepts, a kind of ontology semantic mapping algorithm is given, which confirms the concepts'semantic relationship by the comparison between attribute sets, and takes the semantic information of concept name, attributes and correlative concepts into account when the similarity degree is computed. The algorithms of ontology mapping evolution are given. In order to realize the global query, according to the ontology semantic mapping, the ontology extending query is executed from the ontology in use, and the local query is transformed. The query results are integerated and returned to the user. The ontology extending query algorithm and the query transformation algorithm are given. At the end of the thesis, the system of ontology integration based on semantic mapping is mostly realized, whose essential techniques are described in detail.
