Face Recognition Based On Skin-Color And Eigenface

With the development of technology, the traditional identity recognition cannot meet the increasing demands. The biologic characteristic based identity recognition such as iris and dactylogram needs very strict information collection conditions, which makes it difficult to be used practically. The verification of biologic character based on the face detection has advantages such as friendly, convenient, and simple hardware, etc., which has attracted more andmore attentions these years.The technology of face recognition is a technology that uses the computer to analyze the image and discriminate identity or tecognize status from the worked image. It is a research area spanning several disciplines such as image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, physiology and psychology. Now it is one of the key issues. However, the fact that the recognition results are very easy to be effected by the variation of the expression, pose and illumination and it is very important to assure the real-time of the recognition system make it difficult for the face recognition to be practical.Aim to construct a usable and practical face detection and recognition system, this paper gave a review on the history of face detection and recognition at first, then mainly discussed the face detection problems in dynamic color image under simply background. It mainly consists of two parts: image segmenting and distill preprocessing based on skin color and frontal face detection verifying.First, we studied the clusteringcharacteristics of face skin color under some color spaces, and then we choose one of them namely YCbCr among the models for skin segmentation. By the study, get a face based on the skin color and the shape feature.Then pick-up the face areas from the gray image, prepare for face recognition.This paper also researches the new method of technology of face recognition which is based on the integration of Eigenface, singular value decomposition, wavelet theory and BP Neural Network..By the study, the paper puts forward an improved face recognition arithmetic based on Eigenface. This method predigest the step of calculate. Proved by experiment,the recognition rate is higher.
